BL&DCF offers grants to enhance the quality of life for residents in the Lakes District, supporting local sports, recreation, arts, culture, health, education, and environmental projects.
Youth-Focused Initiatives
Emphasizing youth benefits, BL&DCF directs funds to projects that provide educational opportunities and recreational activities for young people in the Lakes District.
Investing in Our Community
BL&DCF maintains two investment funds—the Dick & Marilyn Nourse Legacy Fund and the Burns Lake & District Community Endowment Fund—ensuring long-term financial support for local initiatives.
Collaborative Stewardship
Partnering with the Prince George Community Foundation, BL&DCF ensures professional management and growth of the funds, with all grants supporting registered Canadian charities or qualified donees in the community.
BL&DCF offers grants to organizations that perform projects and services to enhance the quality of life for residents in the Lakes District. All applicants must be a registered Canadian charity or be sponsored by a registered Canadian charity or another qualified donee. Grants are not made to individuals or businesses.
Grant application intake will be in the spring of each calendar year.
The BL&DCFS awards grants of up to $5,000 to established community groups and organizations. At the discretion of the board, grants greater than $5,000 may be awarded.
Funds that are not used as part of the project are to be returned to the BL&DCFS. Further information will be made available to successful applicants.
